Hip Fracture symptoms : How serious is a hip fracture? Image result for hip fracture Hip fracture is a serious injury and needs immediate medical attention. Most hip fractures happen to people older than age 60. The incidence of hip fractures increases with age, doubling for each decade after age 50. Knee Fracture ??

Do you have these symptoms ?

A patella fracture is a break of the kneecap. Symptoms include pain, swelling, and bruising to the front of the knee. A person may also be unable to walk.Complications may include injury to the tibia, femur, or knee ligaments. It typically results from a hard blow to the front of the knee or falling on the knee. Occasionally it may occur from a strong contraction of the thigh muscles. Diagnosis is based on symptoms and confirmed with X-rays. In children an MRI may be required. The main symptoms of knee injury are as follows:

Knee pain Swelling Heat Redness Tenderness Difficulty bending the knee Problems weight bearing Clicking or popping sounds Locking of the knee Feeling of instability

Ankle Fracture ??

fear (redirected from fearful) An ankle fracture is a break of one or more of the bones that make up the ankle joint. Symptoms may include pain, swelling, bruising, and an inability to walk on the injured leg. Complications may include an associated high ankle sprain, compartment syndrome, stiffness, malunion, and post-traumatic arthritis. Ankle fractures may result from excessive stress on the joint such as from rolling an ankle or from blunt trauma. Types of ankle fractures include lateral malleolus, medial malleolus, posterior malleolus, bimalleolar, and trimalleolar fractures. The Ottawa ankle rule can help determine the need for X-rays. Special X-ray views called stress views help determine whether an ankle fracture is unstable. .

Leg Fracture ??

Symptoms: Whenever a bone breaks or cracks, the injury is called a fracture. The leg has three bones that can fracture — the femur (the thighbone) and the tibia and fibula in the lower leg. When a fracture involves the knobby end portions of bones that are part of the hip, knee and ankle joints, the fracture is more complicated. This article describes only fractures of the straight shafts of the three long leg bones.

Signs and symptoms of a broken leg may include:

Severe pain, which may worsen with movement Swelling Tenderness Bruising Obvious deformity or shortening of the affected leg Inability to wal

Thigh Bone Fracture ??

Do you have these symptoms ?

When there is a break anywhere along this length of bone, it is called a femoral shaft fracture. This type of broken leg almost always requires surgery to heal. The femoral shaft runs from below the hip to where the bone begins to widen at the knee.

Transverse fracture. In this type of fracture, the break is a straight horizontal line going across the femoral shaft. Oblique fracture. This type of fracture has an angled line across the shaft. Spiral fracture. The fracture line encircles the shaft like the stripes on a candy cane. A twisting force to the thigh causes this type of fracture. Comminuted fracture. In this type of fracture, the bone has broken into three or more pieces. In most cases, the number of bone fragments corresponds with the amount of force needed to break the bone. Open fracture. If a bone breaks in such a way that bone fragments stick out through the skin or a wound penetrates down to the broken bone.

Arm Fracture ??

Do you have these symptoms ?

Symptoms A snap or cracking sound might be your first indication you've broken an arm. Signs and symptoms include: Severe pain, which might increase with movement Swelling Bruising Deformity, such as a bent arm or wrist Inability to turn your arm from palm up to palm down or vice versa. A broken arm involves one or more of the three bones in your arm — the ulna, radius and humerus. One of the most common causes of a broken arm is falling onto an outstretched hand. If you think you or your child has broken an arm, seek prompt medical attention. It's important to treat a fracture as soon as possible for proper healing.. Most fractures will need to have a splint or partial cast applied to stabilize the broken bones. Some breaks especially in the upper arm and shoulder may only need to be immobilized in a sling. In addition to splinting the broken arm, the physician will prescribe medicines for pain control and ice to decrease swelling.

Forearm fracture?

Do you have these symptoms?

Symptoms Forearm fractures are a group of fractures that occur in the forearm following trauma. The radius and ulna are bound together at the proximal and distal radioulnar joints and act as a ring. Like elsewhere in the body, it is difficult to only fracture one bone if there is a bony ring..

The majority of patients present with a history of trauma to the forearm and pain. They are reluctant to move their wrist or elbow and depending on the severity of the injury there may be a deformity.

An x-ray of the forearm will determine the type of injury that has occurred. In most cases, there will either be a paired radial and ulnar fracture or an isolated radial fracture and dislocation of the distal or proximal radioulnar joint.
